Compassionate Inquiry

Hey me, little wee me, it's okay to see, You were never the cause of what came to be. It was not your fault, there is no shame to hold, No guilt you must carry, no story you're told. Let go of the years that kept filling your cup, And gently replace them with love building up.
I know it's been long since you felt you were strong, But you never did wrong, you have always belonged. So I will sing softly and speak to your heart, Give wings to your spirit so dreams can restart. Do not fear leaving what once felt so near, Even those close can still wound you with fear.
You are worth every breath, your heart stretches wide, You could hold the whole world and still have space inside. You are enough, you are here, you are real, There is nowhere you lack, nothing left to conceal.
For how important you are, take care of your own, What you give to yourself becomes what you've grown. For how pure you once were, let the past fall away, You are not what has hurt you, you are here, you will stay. For how precious you are, let your memory be free, And return with compassion to that little Bun Bun, me.
There was something that held you when no one was there, A quiet kind presence that answered your prayer. Not loud, not demanding, not asking you to prove, But staying beside you in all that you move. And maybe the love that you're learning to see, Was always there waiting, both in you and in me.
